The Why

Copper Creek Church has always been about more than a building. For many, "Welcome Home" hasn't just been a slogan; it's been a promise and a doorway back to faith and community. That promise exists because 7 years ago, people gave generously to make room for those yet to come. Now, as God grows Copper Creek, our space is limiting our ability to welcome others — and we're being invited to make room again.

Why we are making room

Hear why others have made Copper Creek home.

  • Wahls

It's incredibly meaningful to look down a church row and see three generations of our family whose lives, identities, experiences and even faith tradition aren't all the same- and yet knowing there is room for everyone one of us.

  • Martha

I had no intention of getting to know God if he didn't love me as I am but Copper Creek has been there for all my questions, doubts, fears and joyous moments.

  • One Root Collective - Community Partner

An expanded Copper Creek doesn't just create room for the church, it creates more opportunities for nonprofits like ours to serve families, remove barriers, and build a stronger, more connected community. - Marina

Making Room

FAQS

  • What is the Making Room Campaign?

This is our initiative to raise funds for this important expansion of our church building. In addition to the focus on raising necessary funds, we will also provide numerous opportunities to pray for and be a part of the project. We look forward to a tremendous celebration when the expansion opens in early 2028!

  • Why that campaign theme?

Making Room is a calling that applies to each of us individually as much as it applies to our church. We will be asking you to consider how God is calling you to make room in your own life. And we’ll be focusing on why we are so confident that God is calling CCC to make room for more people, more possibilities, more impact, and more ministry that lasts.

  • Why do we need to build?

The biggest reason is to make room for more people! Our vision from the very beginning has been to create a space for people who are disconnected from Jesus or who have given up on church. Regrettably, it’s a population of people that just keeps growing. We’re expanding to make more room for them! And not just for them. We desperately need more room for our kids and youth, for adult bible studies and classes, for many of our big, fun events. We need more room for efforts to serve our community. We need more room for just about everything we do! Ultimately, we need to build because we believe we’ve only just begun to live into our God given vision!

  • I like the size of our church. Why should I invest in an expansion?

Our favorite analogy for this is the example of a potted plant. At some point, the roots fill up the pot and there’s no more room for growth. Eventually that causes the plant to start to wither. It’s a powerful analogy! Healthy things grow. And our church is really healthy! But without making more room, we will plateau and eventually start to wither. PLUS - the Way of Jesus is all about welcoming people in. And we’ve got a lot of people to welcome in to our church in the years in ahead. We will be working on numerous ways for our church to “get smaller” as we grow bigger.

  • What are we going to build?

The Design Team has been working hard to develop plans that will meet our current and future needs, while also remaining a comfortable and welcoming space for those who will find their way here in the future. The addition will contain a dedicated kids wing, spaces for our teens, classrooms for bible studies, classes and small groups, a larger sanctuary and a larger indoor playground space.

  • What is the time frame?
    • September 13th - Campaign Begins
    • October 4th - Commitment Sunday
    • Spring of 2027 - Construction Begins
    • Spring of 2028 - Completion Goal
  • When will we need to make our financial commitments?

We will be asking everyone to make their 3 year commitments on Sunday, October 4th. Of course, there will be additional opportunities to make a commitment if you cannot attend Commitment Sunday. Please remember that we are all making pledges that are above and beyond your regular financial support of the church. We will still have the same bills to pay during this construction phase! Your contributions to the Making Room Campaign do not have to be in equal increments over that 3 year period. We hope that some of you will give significant portions of your commitment up front, while others of us will likely be able to give more in years 2 or 3 of the campaign.

  • What can I do? How can I get involved?

Please join us in making prayer a top priority. Notice the daily prayer prompts in this booklet. Join us for times of prayer. Show up for the 4 weeks of Making Room worship where we’ll be diving into our vision, along with numerous ideas and dreams. Last thing - start spreading the word! Remember, we are here for the ones who aren’t here yet.
